For at least a week at present, whenever somebody has tried to send me a motion-picture show via text message, I have been unable to view the flick. Instead, there'south download button where the picture should be, and when I click information technology, I get the error message in this thread's title.

I've had more than one person attempt to send me a picture, just to make certain the problem is with my phone. Very weird. Are there any settings I should fiddle with before calling T-Mobile?

Oh, I should mention my SGS2 is fairly new, and came from the factory with ICS already installed.

Thanks in accelerate for your aid!

    Hello PacificaBren :ciao:

I do very little texting so I can't offer much help. The only thing I tin advise is to try Handcent SMS and see if that helps any.

I think I know what may exist the trouble!!!! I accept had this problem when a picture was sent to me from the pesky iphone. I am unable to view the picture but there is a download button and judge what when I press it nothing happens.

Become alee and do the following test - if you have a family member around you or friend that has a phone other than the apple fruit product snap a flick and send it to your cocky as an MMS (that should be the way people are sending it) except the iphone has some weird stuff it does with pics and the mms role actually does not work.

After you receive the text there should exist a thumbnail of the flick in the messaging app window (that is assuming you are using the default app). Click on the thumbnail and see if you tin can open the full motion-picture show. They are pretty low quality and you should see the pic but too be able to count the pixels on it.

Hope this helps - I know mms works because me and a buddy of mine that got a windows phone exchange memes all the time. :)

Cheers, just two of my friends have the same telephone as me, on the same carrier, and I'm not able to meet the pics they transport me. So it's got to be something else.

I phoned T-Mobile tech support and they got my trouble sorted out. I'1000 now reporting dorsum for the benefit of anybody in the futurity who may happen to Google "Currently unable to download. Delight try over again later" and air current up looking at this thread.

From the dwelling house screen, click on carte/settings/more/mobile networks, then click on "Admission Signal Names." In one case you lot're on the Access Signal Names screen, hit your menu button and choose "Reset to default."

Then get a friend to ship you lot an mms message with a picture in information technology to test whether the trouble is fixed. That's what fixed it for me, anyway.

Where is the "menu" push? Is it that matter that looks like two pieces of paper underneath a box? When I push the two pieces of paper under a box button, information technology does have a "settings" option but when I button information technology, at that place'due south nothing like "access point names" or "mobile networks".

How exercise you make certain "data enabled" and "information roaming" are checked?

Yes, that's the menu push button.

When yous printing it, y'all should come across a stack that looks like this:

    Settings
    Wireless and network
    Wi-Fi
    Bluetooth
    Information usage
    More...

You have to click on "More than..." to be able to continue. From that next screen, click on "mobile networks," and you should come across the settings yous're looking for.

My trouble was having mobile data off because I use wifi. I approximate y'all tin can't download attachments over wifi.

    Thank you for the solution!

For those people like me who had to unlock their telephone, (you lot tin unlock your telephone for complimentary with a google search) the APN disappears every time you do a factory reset. You will have to re-blazon the APN. Some people need to alter their APN settings if they accept been throttled, whatever that means.
I accept AT & T service and bought a T mobile phone, then.

This is where y'all go to get the APN settings to type in.

Sorry for reopening an former thread... I tired to reset APNs but I only had ane in the list and the reset button was grayed out. I poked around a fleck more and discovered that my mobile network was set to global instead of LTE/CDMA. I set that, and turned on my mobille network and all the mms due west/ a non-working download button reloaded correctly. I got the letters instead of a download button. I have a Note3 on Verizon. I was on my home wifi network and still did not get mms. I' not sure if switching to LTE or turning on my mobile data fixed the trouble. I'd recollect no thing what, if I'm on wifi, i should get mms. Hope this helps someone!

Thanks so much for taking the time to come back and mail service this solution. Worked like a amuse. Awesome that you got a tech who was knowledgeable.

If yous do this you could become charged roaming charges when out of the coverage area. Especially important if you travel internationally. It has nothing to practise with the solution to the mistake.

I know this thread is old, merely I felt obligated to provide my solution for my situation. My father-in-constabulary bought a LG G2 Mini dual sim that simply uses 3G. We updated and installed all apps needed for his job as well. Long story short, the attachments from the text service (MMS) couldn't downloaded whatsoever pictures.

    What I did:

I went ahead and added a new APN into the wireless settings, such as what tjgriffin posted. I found and used these settings: (REMEMBER): Different settings apply if yous're using LTE phone vs a 3G phone.

    Name: T-MOBILE
APN: epc.tmobile.com but y'all it's an LTE Device, use: fast.tmobile.com instead
    Proxy: <Leave in Blank>
    Port: <Go out in Blank>
    Username: <Leave in Blank>
    Password: <Leave in Blank>
    Server: <Exit in Bare>
    MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    MMS proxy: <Exit in Blank>
MMS port: <Get out in Blank>
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 260
    Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
    APN blazon: default,supl,mms
APN Protocol: Leave it to the Default one

VOILA! Information technology worked! Attachments went through and we were able to download the pictures! Hope this helps others. Thanks!

My phone was doing the same, so I went to the messaging app I'm currently using "Become SMS pro" and went to settings, then click on full general, when there you should encounter MMS click on MMS Behavior if it says "Legacy" you click it and so go back to your message with the file that needs to be downloaded and tap information technology. Later that your motion picture or whatsoever should come up through with no problem.

How do you make sure that it's LTE?
  21. livy111

Anybody stop changing settings please. Just reset your networks to default settings.
Settings > Connections > More than Connectedness Settings > Reset Network Connections.

Alert: you will lose all of your Saved WIFI access points and passwords.
